Six-Part Anti-Racist Writers Workshop
Time & Location
About The Event
The Truth & Titus Anti-Racist Writers Workshop is for people of all races who are interested in using writing as a vehicle to further their personal anti-racist journey. The group will write together and offer each other feedback, both in-person at meetings (six Saturday morning sessions spread over two months, dates below) and in between sessions online. The intention of the group is to use the writing process to deepen our understanding of anti-racist concepts and practices, not necessarily to output a specific body of work. The facilitators’ focus will be on nurturing healthy group dynamics and creative learning, not on technique or editing. A diverse group of up to 10 participants will be selected by the facilitators and Truth & Titus staff based on an application process, including submission of writing samples, demonstration of at least an intermediate level of knowledge about issues of race and equity, and the social identities of applicants.
The first workshop date is March 7. Applicants should plan to attend the entire series of six sessions, all from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.:
The group will be facilitated by Don Daniel and Andy Helmboldt.
Truth & Titus is committed to our programming being financially accessible to everyone. If you would like to pay the entire cost up front, you may do so here using a credit card or PayPal. If you need to make other arrangements, please select "pay manually" at checkout and we will contact you about your plan. Ability to pay has no bearing on who is selected to participate in the workshop.
